DEVELOPMENT OF BOARDGAMES AND DIGITAL APPLICATIONS "SOS" AS SCIENCE AND SOCIAL SCIENCE LEARNING MEDIA AT NGABEYAN 03 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Abstract
This study developed a learning media in the form of the SOS board game in two forms, namely a manual version and a digital version, to increase student motivation and understanding in science and social studies subjects in elementary schools. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method through several stages, namely needs analysis through teacher observation and interviews, designing game mechanisms and digital interfaces, developing media in physical and application forms, and testing and evaluation on sixth grade students. The results showed that all students understood the rules of the manual version of the game very well, while the digital version provided a more interactive learning experience through automatic question features, easy navigation, and attractive visual displays. Both forms of media were considered easy to use, increased student engagement, and helped understand science and social studies concepts more effectively. Overall, the SOS board game was declared feasible and effective as a fun alternative learning media and has the potential to be further developed with broader materials and features.
