IMPLEMENTATION OF DESIGN THINKING METHOD IN DESIGNING UI/UX DESIGN OF PESANKOPIKU MOBILE APPLICATION (CASE STUDY: XYZ COFFEE SHOP)
Abstract
The development of digital technology encourages business actors in the food and beverage sector to switch from manual ordering systems to application-based systems. However, the success of an application implementation is not only determined by functionality, but also by the quality of user interface (UI) design and user experience (UX). This research aims to design the UI/UX design of the Pesankopiku coffee ordering application at Kedai Kopi XYZ using the Design Thinking method. This method is applied through five stages, namely empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Data collection is carried out through observation and interviews with customers to understand the needs and problems faced in the ordering process. The results of the analysis resulted in several solution ideas, including table barcode scanning features, more detailed menu information, and coffee order customization. The selected ideas are then developed into the form of user flows, wireframes, and application prototypes. The testing stage was carried out using the System Usability Scale (SUS) method involving five respondents. The test results showed an average SUS score of 74 which indicates that the application design is in the user-acceptable category. This research is expected to complement previous research and become a reference for the development of UI/UX design of coffee ordering applications that are oriented to user needs.
